WARSAW, POLAND

Getting here, staying & exploring

The essentials for now — more to come

Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW)

Warsaw has two airports: Chopin and Modlin.

Chopin Airport is the easiest option, just around 15 minutes from the city centre with plenty of straightforward transport options. Modlin Airport is further out and popular with low-cost airlines like Ryanair — it can be a cheaper option, but the journey into Warsaw is a little less straightforward.

If you have the choice, we recommend flying into Chopin.

Make a Weekend of It

A weekend is a lovely amount of time to get a feel for Warsaw. We'll put together a little city guide with some of our favourite places to eat, drink and explore. We'll also be around for a few days before the wedding, so if you're arriving early, we'd love to explore a few of them together.

Poland, Beyond Warsaw

If you're making a longer trip of it, there's plenty more worth exploring.

Kraków — Poland's beautiful former royal capital, known for its remarkably preserved historic centre, cobbled streets, castles and cafés. A great choice for a couple of days of history, culture and very good food.

Gdańsk — a charming seaside city with colourful façades, a historic waterfront and easy access to the Baltic coast.

Zakopane & the Tatra Mountains — head south for mountain scenery, fresh air and some of Poland's best hiking. Think alpine lakes, dramatic peaks and cosy mountain huts.

And then there's Mazury — Poland's lake district and potentially the destination for a little post-wedding friendmoon. We're imagining a few slow days of lakes, forests, swimming, cycling and relaxing with friends. If a few days by the lakes sound tempting, let us know and come along!
